Difference Between IBPS Clerk and IBPS PO

What is the difference between IBPS Clerk and IBPS PO -  IBPS Institute has many number of posts for the banks hiring. There are basically two most important posts in IBPS banks i.e. Clerk and PO (Probationary Officer). Most of the candidates do not know the difference between a clerk and a PO. They do not know the primitive knowledge behind both of these posts. Every year hundred of thousands candidates give and appear for the posts of clerk and PO. Bank clerk has an important role in giving the best facilities to the bank's customers. It is a front office job in a bank includes understanding and handling various customer’s requirements. The clerk's nature should be friendly, he/she should have the basic knowledge of banking operations, should be accurate, must have good typing speed.

A person who works in an office and bank and whose work is to save records, maintaining accounts, and undertake other routine administrative duties is known as a clerk.

Various roles of clerk in bank:

  1. Communicate with the customers for their exact requirements.
  2. Confirming and completion of the KYC (Know Your Customer) form at the time of opening accounts.
  3. Maintaining & updating bank accounts of customers.
  4.  Doing follow up of the  bank customers by calling and mailing for the Advances.

Bank Clerk Minimum Salary comes between Rs.21, 339/- to Rs.23, 117/-. It can be more than that according to grade pay scales and banks.

Exam pattern for clerk contains two exams which are 1) Prelims exam and 2)Mains Exam which are conducted by IBPS.

Prelims exam consists of  three sections i.e. Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English. 

Exam paper consists 100 questions with a time limit of 1 hour. Reasoning contains 35 questions with 35 marks, quantitative aptitude contains 35 questions with 35 marks and English contains 30 questions with 30 marks.

In Mains exam, there are five sections i.e. Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English, Computer and General Awareness.
