IBPS PO Job Profile - आईबीपीएस पीओ नौकरी प्रोफ़ाइल: In the bank, PO is one of the most important profiles. It is regularly advertised for bank recruitment. The job of a bank probationary officer (PO) is considered as a profitable career option and a white collar job. Every year lacs of candidates challenge for PO exams. The job offers a high career growth and prospects for a bright future in banking. Many candidates want to know about the responsibilities of a bank PO, what kind of job they do once they are recruited in banks. You know about the PO post is the entry level position at which bank officer starts work after posting. A bank PO undertakes a 2 years training and then gets the post of Assistant manager. Normal view of this job is general banking and bank administration.

Why it is named PO

A person who is newly appointed as an officer will be under 2 years’ probation period. During this he or she undertakes the training and performs the allotted works. Since candidates join the bank at a junior level, they are being called Probationary Officer (PO) but the actual designation could be assistant manager. Those are graduates comes from the college and without experience in the banking field who wish for a career in govt. banks have to either join as Clerk or PO (scale I) only.

Multitasking job

The role of PO is multitasking job and allocated for various banking activities, which helps them to familiar with working in banks.

Practical knowledge 

The officers are practically trained in many fields like marketing, accounting, loans and advances as well as finance.

 Supervision of Clerical work 

All the clerical work like managing cash, opening account and customer dealing is done under the guidance of PO’s. In the cash transactions, the PO is responsible to check all details entered by clerk correctly or not and authorized signatory on the transactions.

Loan Processing

One the major work of the bank i.e. providing various types of loans to the requiring is also take care by an officer. Earlier grating the loan to the customer, all the documents verified.

Official Communication

In the multinational company, all employees have numerous emails which could be related to new rules or schemes or products. Officers may be asked to keep all the latest news to improve their product growth in the market. The branch manager could ask to send the official letter or documents to the others departments. So PO`s are required to be well experienced in all the branch activities because on promotion, they will be elevated to the cadre of ‘Branch Manager’.

Handle customer complaints and address various customer related issues

Handle all the queries from the customers regarding the address, mobile number,opening the account, internet banking  and loan documentation.

Discrepancies in accounts

A discrepancy in accounts is a problem that was not caused purposely and meaning the books don't properly match and solved by the Probationary Officer (PO).

Rectification of undue charges

If the charges will be deducted by the bank, the officer will be rectified them in front of the customers.For example -charges of SMS ,charges of duplicate bank passbook etc.

Look into complaints regarding services provided by the bank.

Solve the problems of the customers in the using the products of the banks.If the customer have the problem in operating the ATM card then rectify the problem.
