Important formulas for Area

  1.  Area of a rectangle = (Length x Breadth).
  2. Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth).
  3.  Area of a square = (side)2 =\frac { 1 }{ 2 } (diagonal)2.
  4.  Area of 4 walls of a room = 2 (Length + Breadth) x Height.
  5.  Area of a triangle = \frac { 1 }{ 2 } x Base x Height.
  6. Area of a triangle = \sqrt { s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c) }where a, b, c are the sides of the triangle and s = \frac { 1 }{ 2 }(a + b + c).
  7.   Area of an equilateral triangle = \cfrac {\sqrt { 3 } }{ 4 } x(side)²
  8.  Radius of incircle of an equilateral triangle of side a =\frac { a }{ 2\sqrt { 3 }}
  9. Radius of circumference of an equilateral triangle of side a=\frac { a }{ \sqrt { 3 }}
  10. Area of a parallelogram=Base x height
  11. Area of a rhombus=\frac { 1 }{ 2 } x product of diagonals.
  12. Area of trapezium  =\frac { 1 }{ 2 } x (sum of parallel sides) x distance between them.
  13. Area of a circle= Π{ R }^{ 2 }
  14. Circumference of a circle=2ΠR

6. Hemisphere

Things to remember

  1. 1 litre=1000{cm }^{ 3 }.
  2. Sum of all angles of a triangle is { 180 }^{ o }
  3. Pythagoras Theorem={\left( Hypotenuse \right)}^{ 2 }={\left( Base \right)}^{ 2 }+{ \left( Perpendicular \right)}^{ 2 }.
  4. The sum of two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side.
